What’s wrong with all these big time free agent pitchers? How come they all seem to think that the Bronx is a place for losers? How about the new Stadium? Why would they want to miss out on A-Rod and co.? The latest in this series is AJ Burnett, who is coincidentally another one of [...]

Larry Bowa, one of the Yankees’ main targets in the third-base coach market, has decided to stay in Los Angeles with Joe Torre and the Dodgers for at least another year. This ends the speculation that Bowa will return to the Yanks. I was hoping for a return so Robinson Cano would get fired up [...]

Hey everybody, sorry for my long absence from this blog. Yeah, I’m busy with schoolwork and such, but I would never ditch a blog without saying good-bye to my readers. Well, I’m back, so expect more posting from now on.
Anyway, nothing much to say here. Phil Hughes got crushed in his latest game, so [...]

With a new ballpark almost completed in the Bronx, another chapter in the New York Yankees’ long history is just about to start. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this exciting journey? In fact, this ballpark could be the bait to luring coveted free agent hurlers such as CC Sabathia and AJ Burnett [...]

Okay, this officially seals any attempt from the Yankees to retain Abreu. The 34 year old right fielder is headed to the free agent market for the first time in his whole career, but he demands at least a 3-year contract from any team. The most the Yankees would offer Abreu is a one-year contract, [...]

Don’t worry. This ain’t Tommy John surgery or anything serious like that, thank goodness. Yankees closer Mariano Rivera will undergo surgery on his sore right shoulder which has been bothering him since the last few days of the regular season. Dr. David Altchek, who performed surgery on Jorge Posada earlier this year, will get to [...]

Really? Well, you have to admit it’s rather brave of GM Brian Cashman to say this statement to the general public. Plus, he said it right after signing a 3-year contract, which is pretty bold, too. Does he mean it? Will 3 years be enough for the Yankees to win a championship under Cashman’s decisions? [...]

Well, certainly good news after the disastrous finish for the Yankees. I know there’s a variety of feelings exerting from Yankee fans when Cashman agreed to a new contract, but hey, at least that’s one problem off the Steinbrenners’ hands.

Mike Mussina finally did it. The 39- year old righty won his 20th victory of the season, setting a career-high wins record. Kudos, Moose. You’ve always been the anchor of the Yanks’ staff this year!

Because of the rainout against the Red Sox in Game 161, the Yankees will play a doubleheader on the final day of the MLB season. What a way to end a baseball year full of surprises and miracles, eh? G’luck Yanks.

The New York Yankees, eliminated from the playoff race just recently, helped themselves to a bit of revenge. Their rival the Boston Red Sox are responsible for ending the Yankees’ 13-year playoff streak, so now, the Yankees are doing everything they can to help the Tampa Bay Rays win the division.

Yankees captain Derek Jeter, who was hit in the hand by a pitch during the Yanks’ walk-off 1-0 win over the Orioles, is OK, based on reports.
