Well, first for the rumors, then the paragraphs on the 2008 All-Star Game, which the American League won, 4-3, extending the winning streak to 12 years. The Yankees are interested in signing Freddy Garcia, aftering monitoring his shoulder progress, of course.
Garcia pitched decent in the past, but horrible after a short stint in Philadelphia, in which he went 1-5 before requiring season-ending Tommy John surgery. Signing Garcia would have its ups and downs, of course, but I’m worried Garcia would struggle to find control after Tommy John surgery and he might pull yet another Carl Pavano. Pavano, meanwhile, is expected to return in mid-August. I doubt he’ll contribute much to the team, after what happened to Mark Mulder of the Cardinals.
The other rumor is definitely surprising, to say the least. Us Yankee fans are fuming now because our so-called GM, Brian Cashman, failed to make a run at Sabathia and Harden. Also, he did absolute NOTHING this season, compared to main contenders. Anyway, with Hideki Matsui likely out for the season, the Yanks are looking for an outfielder. You know what? Cashman hints they may make a run at Barry Bonds, and they might sign him!!! You know how horrible that would be? Signing an old dump (to be fair, who can still hit homers) rather than trading young packages for Xavier Nady or Matt Holliday? No way. I’m going all against this decision, and I hope Cashman fails to sign Bonds.
Meanwhile, on completely different matters, the All-Star Game, played in Yankee Stadium for the final year (I really cannot imagine next season without Yankee Stadium-that means unfamiliar seating for me–lol.) turned out to be the longest ASG in history, in which each team used up all their pitchers except for one. At one time, JD Drew and David Wright, both pure sluggers, even offered to their respective managers to pitch if the final pitchers go down. That would be hilarious! Anyway, a suitable ending for the final year at Yankee Stadium, a game which doesn’t seem to end. The American League rode Michael Young’s clutch sacrifice fly to a 4-3 triumph. Looks like my predictions that the AL will win was unmistakably right.
Guess what. The MVP of the All-Star Game was JD Drew of the…are you ready? BOSTON RED SOX!!! What are the guys thinking? How could they even think about choosing a BoSox player. Even though Drew hit a 2-run homer, what’s the big deal? They should be ashamed of their whole existance for selecting JD Drew! I’d even settle with Evan Longoria as the MVP, or better yet, Mariano Rivera!
Mariano pitched EXCELLENT for the AL troop, pitching 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, compared to Jonathan Papelbon’s ONE RUN ALLOWED. Always knew Mo was the better closer. Always will be, too.
Well, I think that’s it for today’s long post. See you tomorrow, hopefully, with more rumors about the Yankees.

Awesome post! Mo should be the MVP, I agree.
ooh.
Yeah. I wanna see JD give up 50 runs and D-Wright walk ten straight batters, lol.
