Rivera blows it BIG for the Bombers; Matsui may take BP

Mariano Rivera, one of the greatest closers ever to play the game of baseball and possibly the best one when it comes to postseason games, blew it for the Yanks in the second game of a 3-game series against the powerful lineup of the Texas Rangers. Rivera gave up a RBI single to Rangers shortstop Michael Young, breaking a 3-2 tie and sending the Yanks to their 3rd straight loss. Joba failed to get his win, and Rivera failed to hold on to the tight score. It would be enormously embarrasing if the Rangers sweep the Yankees. No WAY, the Yanks will send journeyman Sidney Ponson to the mound (despite a near-blood feud) in the 3rd game, and hopefully, he will pitch like he did at Shea Stadium.

In other news, outfielder Hideki Matsui, who injured his knee a while ago, said he may take BP soon. Manager Joe Girardi said Matsui might be able to take some Batting Practice soon, and also said that Matsui “Came in today and looked great.” Well, thats real comforting for us Yankee fans, isnt it?
