Mike Mussina, the ace of the Yankee Nation now that Chien-Ming Wang is sidelined, despite a solid perfomance, is beaten by the powerful lineup of the Texas Rangers, 2-1. The Yankees had a chance to defeat the Rangers, but a 1-2-3 ninth by Texas closer CJ Wilson ended a comback bid. Look on the bright side, though. Even though Josh Hamilton, the RBI leader, drove in a run to help the Rangers beat the Yanks by 1, the Sox were beaten 5-4 by the surging Rays. We now have a chance to tie into 2nd place!!! Still, I feel sorry that Mike didn’t get his 11th win to tie Saunders and Cliff Lee for the AL’s win leaders.
Alex Rodriguez smacked his 15th home run of the season to give the Yanks some life in this duel. The homer is A-Rod’s 534th blast which tied him with Jimmie Foxx for 14th place on the all-time home run list.
Tomorrow it’s Joba vs Kevin Millwood. Will Joba earn his 2nd victory as a starter? More to come.

Hey Victor, can you tell me how far A-Rod’s homer travelled Monday night? I was in Section 39 and it looked like it went over monument park. Please email me. Thanks.
At least A-Rod homered and tied Foxx on the homer list, yeah?
Oh, the homer bounced into the Monument Park and then bounced into the stands. Quite cool.
