Two straight strikeouts in the ninth with a runner at second. George Sherill slaps hands with Ramon Hernandez. Third loss in a row. Fans sitting stunned in their seats. Wilson Betemit heads back to the dugout glumly. Just another Yankees loss, but to the Orioles? Gotta be kidding.

Jorge Posada commited himself to having season-ending surgery on his shoulder. He is expected to be sidelined for SIX MONTHS after the operation, and probably won’t make Spring Training. With our aging catcher out of the picture, Jose Molina and Chad Moeller are the only remaining catchers, going as starter and backup, respectively. If Posada [...]

Well, it’s kind of late out here, but I’ve got some quick news to share. Kudos again to Cash for his brilliant trade. Anyway, with the trade deadline nearing, the Yanks are coming close to netting the M’s Jarrod Washburn. If the M’s don’t budge and want a top prospect, the Yanks will target the [...]

Brian Cashman has finally done a great trade. With the recent 7-game winning streak together with this blockbuster trade, I think the Yanks are gearing up for at least the Wild Card slot. We all know we’re an awesome team, don’t we? Well, the Yanks acquired outfielder Xavier Nady and lefty reliever Damaso Marte.

Dang it! That’s all I can say right now. Is our 36 year old catcher going to be a big contract bust like Carl Pavano? Speaking of Pavano, that guy should be coming back around late August or early September. Should be at least a bit of help to our rotation (or bullpen). Back to [...]

Looks like the Yankees got off to a great second half. Robinson Cano, their young second baseman, went hot right after the All-Star Break, as expected. Who knows what the Yankees will do in their remaining games, including the final 28 at the House that Ruth Built? Will they have a big, or should [...]

Well, word leaked out that the Yankees denied they were negotiating with Barry Bonds. With the absence of outfielders Hideki Matsui and Johnny Damon, the Yanks were in desperate need for a power-hitting outfielder.

Well, our longtime General Manager Brian Cashman finally got something done. Nope, it’s not Barry Bonds. It’s a certain slugger named Richie Sexson. Sexson agreed to a deal with the Yankees, which will pay him a minimum salary of 390,000.

Well, first for the rumors, then the paragraphs on the 2008 All-Star Game, which the American League won, 4-3, extending the winning streak to 12 years. The Yankees are interested in signing Freddy Garcia, aftering monitoring his shoulder progress, of course.

The New York Yankees, expected to be heavy buyers before this year’s trade deadline, are interested in adding more power and bolstering their outfield. With Hideki Matsui and Johnny Damon, their two main outfielders out, and the offensive-challenged lineup sagging under the pressure of the duo, the Yankees are interested in trading for the Pirates’ [...]

Colorado Rockies reliever Brian Fuentes heard enough rumors about possible trades relating to him to clearly state a statement. Fuentes said that if the Rockies trade him, he’d like to be traded to the New York Yankees or the New York Mets the two teams of the Big Apple.

Jason Giambi, with his newly grown bushy ’stache and his “Support the ‘Stache” thing for the fans, was a heavy favorite to make the all-star team via the Final Vote online voting program. Someone (two, in fact) had to come along and spoil the possibility of four Yankees in the ASG.
