Andy Pettitte continued his ace self, pitching the Yankees to a 3-2 win over the Mets and their ace, Johan Santana. Pettitte allowed only solo homers from David Wright and Ramon Castro. Helped by Cano’s surging power, and RBIs from Giambino and Jorge, New York Yankees helped Pettitte win his 7th (or is it 8th?) Victory. Mariano continued his good ol’ silent style, fastballin’ all the way, and closed it for the Yanks, continuing the expert duo with Pettitte. One more Pettitte win+ Mariano Save to tie the all-time record!!!!! Okay, the Dodgers beat the Angels 1-0 without getting a hit, just a sacrifice fly from Dewitt.
