Yankees, Mets split Doubleheader

Dan Giese was horribly roughed up by the Mets and of course, Carlos Delgado’s Mets record 9 RBI in one game. Mike Pelfrey managed to hold the Yankees’ bats at bay, and the Mets proceeded to rout the helpless Yanks 15-6 in the first game of the Doubleheader, at Yankee Stadium.

Well, after the Yankees got off to a real great 1st inning and Mike Mussina seemed bound for his AL lead-tying 11th win, rain poured down and ruined it all. The Bombers are showing that they are still 90-win teams, continuing their surge in the notorious AL EAST division. The Red Sox won the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-0 today, and the overrated Rays routed the young Marlins, 15-3.
